2001 Sinan Road - 2 am, Shanghai
Sinan Road in Shanghai at 2 a.m. in 2001, when traffic and pedestrian activity had largely disappeared. Streetlights trace the curve of the road, illuminating trees, sidewalks, and the façades of older residences.
Renowned for its historical architecture and moderated scale, Sinan Road offers a striking contrast to Shanghai’s commercial thoroughfares. The late hour transforms the street into a contemplative environment, where light, shadow, and emptiness reveal a subdued rhythm beneath the city’s daytime vitality.
