1986 Young Tibetan Monks, Sera Monastery

In 1987, this photograph captured two young Buddhist nuns sitting together in Guiyang, their faces calm and reserved. They seem comfortable in each other's company, sharing a quiet moment away from formal rituals or teachings.

The setting, stone steps, wooden doors, and an incense burner, grounded their lives in simple surroundings. Their youth contrasts with the longstanding traditions they’ve inherited, implying an ongoing spiritual practice passed down by a new generation.
